CONCEPT

working subtitle – Crossing Borders, Connecting Cultures (dedicated to the Nordic countries)

An important value to an international literary festival is provided by the renowned as well as the emerging literary voices that together with the audience, have a common aim; to communicate and to understand each other. The objective is an interactive participation, bringing closer together, the writer-reader with the public-audience.

Writers-readers and the public-audience create a new platform-dialogue, in which they converge seeking new ideas and new approaches, so that they understand the new and contemporary literary trends.

Within this context, Ideogramma, organises the 2nd International Literary Festival in Cyprus, inviting poets, writers, novelists, translators, artists, musicians as well as bookshops and publishers and academic institutions, to participate in this 3day cultural coexistence.

The 2nd International Literary Festival gives access to modern writing but at the same time protects the classical heritage of literature.

Starting this year, special events will be organised that will highlight the literary and artistic trends of selected countries or areas, in order to share their current literature and art, not only with the audience but with the other participants too. For this reason, the 2nd International Literary Festival will host a number of writers and artists from the Nordic countries.

Two of the festival events, ‘North meets South in Literature’, a round table discussion and ‘Drifting Clouds’ (inspired by Henrik Ibsen’s Per Gynt), an artists’ books exhibition, will be held under the umbrella “Crossing Borders, Connecting Cultures” (dedicated to the Nordic countries).
